Challenge
A Tier 1 automotive supplier needed a repack system: operators unpack raw-goods parts from cardboard packaging and repack finished goods into dunnage totes.
The pallet conveyor and pallet lifts required a specific sequence of events. Most of it is automated, but the operator steps the process forward or back while removing or adding layers of raw or finished goods on the pallets.
The project also included a tote station that locks an empty tote in place. The operator scans the Kanban card on the tote, then the part's 2D matrix once the part is placed in the tote. When they match, the tote unlocks for removal.
Results
The system lets our customer keep its promise to deliver quality parts.
